Position Summary: This position is responsible for working with customers (Department of Defense - Navy new buildings) to inspire project conception, owning oversight of all related build strategy, ultimately ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery, and full-cycle maritime programming at our vast, 63-acre facility. Boasting a diverse portfolio of active contracts, military new construction, the Program Manager responsible for cost and schedule performance of Government programs. The Manager is strategically positioned to drive the Projects accomplishments: to efficiently liaise with the other FMG shipyards, to organize the workload, to keep under control the project's progress, to improve the efficiency, to promote the quality, to introduce and foster better technologies, to implement a safe, fruitful and exciting working environment, to regularly present the progress report, to connect with the shipyard's function to favor the correct and proper flow on information, to organize and hold the Client's meeting.
Detailed Description:
- Stay informed of regional, national and global maritime construction trends, leveraging knowledge to drive organizational success.
- Set objectives to align with broader organizational goals.
- Make implementation plans that allocate physical, intellectual and monetary resources precisely.

- Oversee establishment of project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within policy and contract specifications.
- Provide guidance and direction to project managers, production managers, and engineering on such matters as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.
- Maintain a good relationship with owners and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
- Monitor and control a multitude of projects through administrative direction of on-site supervisors to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Drive risk management initiatives by coordinating vessel walks with key stakeholders to ensure safety hazards and all other risks are mitigated through appropriate corrective action.
- Take leadership role in project meetings and set strategy and priorities in meetings.
- Ensure accountability for the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, shipbuilders, customers, etc.
- Make inferences from reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, scheduling, etc., and implement strategic initiatives to correct issues and maximize existing intellectual and material capital.
- Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on the waterfront.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding's policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Willingness to be a mentor, and demonstrate leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Readily willing and able to engage in physically energetic pursuits on the waterfront
- Advanced knowledge of construction processes and building science
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
Desired Qualifications:
- 10 years progressive leadership in a shipbuilding, manufacturing or construction environment
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Working experience with ABS, U.S.C.G., and related standards
- Active PMP Certification (Project Management Professional)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
