About the Student Services Center
The CECH Student Services Center is home to our college’s undergraduate academic advisors, as well as our college’s Student Success Team, including retention specialists and our embedded mental health counselor.
Job Overview
The Program Manager for Undergraduate Student Success will provide leadership and oversight for retention initiatives that are data-driven, proactive, and student centered. The Program Manager will develop customized retention strategies for targeted populations to promote academic success, improve retention, and increase graduation rates. Retention responsibilities include assisting students of diverse backgrounds in fostering a strong sense of self and community, mentoring underserved students, and linking students to various campus resources and other administrative offices to enhance student success. The Program Manager may also teach a section of CECH’s First-Year Experience course.
The Program Manager must have strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Must be able to retain a high volume of programmatic, college, and university related information while having the ability to critically think through complex situations. Employee must be able to work well both on a team and independently.
Standard Days Worked: M-F
Type of Appointment: Full-Time (12 Months)
Work Location: Hybrid. Office location is 360 Teachers-Dyer Complex. Position is eligible for 40% remote work.
Essential Functions
- Manage, design, develop, modify and present retention programs. Perform program needs assessment and evaluation, and make recommendations.
- Develop long-range plans and strategies to achieve unit and university goals for retention. Monitor and achieve established goals.
- Disaggregate, analyze, and disseminate retention and graduation data to determine populations with adverse retention.
- Track enrollment data of current students to determine student barriers and points where students are lost.
- Implement a plan designed to re-engage students who have not maintained continuous enrollment in a program.
- Implement a plan to gather data on why students leave a program.
- Work on a team to develop and implement retention strategies for underserved and diverse populations.
- Support student needs with sound equity and inclusion practices for student success.
- Evaluate student needs and provide appropriate referrals to resources and opportunities.
- Utilize student success technologies for monitoring student progress and outreach.
- Create networks with faculty and administrative offices to actualize and support the university and college's retention and diversity missions.
- Develop retention strategies in partnership with university, college, and community partners for specific needs of diverse populations.
- Perform related duties based on college need.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
- Three (3) years of relevant experience
