Job Summary


This position will provide experienced program scheduling support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).


Years of Relevant Experience


The position requires 5+ years of relevant scheduling experience in a process improvement, planning and scheduling role using the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) Corporate Work Plan (CWP) tool and Primavera or Microsoft Project software.


Essential Job Functions

  • Provide scheduling, resource and financial analysis using the FAA’s CWP tool as the primary source of project data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project (MSP) and/or Primavera 6 (P6) to create resources loaded schedules based on input from project managers and design layouts, filters, and reports within the tool
  • Implement consistent planning, scheduling, and resource management processes to meet varying project sizes, scope, and needs
  • Experience in preparing, maintaining and progressing a schedule using the critical path methodology
  • Identify, monitor, and status project control milestones
  • Develop what-if scenarios and identify schedule risks and the potential impact to the project's/portfolio’s objectives
  • Apply project scheduling fundamentals like critical path analysis and resource analysis
  • Develop and apply data analysis reports and present schedule performance information to stakeholders
  • Experience in working with the business defining schedule process improvements and translating needs into schedule requirements and long-term Project Plans.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment with analysts, engineers, management consultants, and other schedulers
  • Document and control changes and revisions to the schedule
  • Prepare presentation charts and reports and participate in project reviews
  • Prepare custom CWP reports and spreadsheets to support program implementation
  • Provide updates to CWP as needed in the Project Charter, Project Team, RAM, Cost Estimates, Baseline Scope, Project Plan, Project Status and Documentation
  • Understand schedule data conversion concepts for porting MSP and Excel project plans to Primavera P6 projects
  • Compliance with all relevant GAO-16-89G, Schedule Assessment Guide: Best Practices for Project Schedules
  • Occasional travel required as needed by client/s and/or company

Education Requirements

High School Diploma Required. Certification from professional scheduling association also required.


Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in Primavera EPPM 16.1 or greater and/or MSP is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading project planning efforts.
  • Experience working in a team environment, empowering team members, and working collaboratively to collect schedule data for project updates.
  • Experience working with project cost teams preferred.
  • Understanding of how to apply risk to project schedules.
  • Experience in IT or software project scheduling preferred.
  • Strong analytical, computer and good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in project schedule analysis software, such as Steelray Project Analyzer, Oracle Risk / Pertmaster, or similar tools is desired.
  • Experience with, or understanding of, at least one Earned Value Management engine (such as Deltek Cobra) is desired.
  • Understanding all relevant GAO-16-89G, Schedule Assessment Guide: Best Practices for Project Schedules
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced work environment and be flexible to work on more than one program.

Security Requirements

Must be a US citizen or a legal resident for three of the past five years. Must meet eligibility requirements for a US Public Trust security clearance.
