JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Project Coordinator

Chicago Police Department

Number of Positions: 3

Under general supervision, the class is assigned to the Office of Constitutional Policing and Reform of the Chicago Police Department engaged in project coordination, planning, and assisting with consent decree efforts, and performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Serves as a project or program coordinator, oversees work operations to ensure established goals and objectives are met.
  • Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of program operations; plans work schedules and priorities for project activities.
  • Facilitate and prepare meetings, project plans, and agendas.
  • Perform administrative tasks including drafting letters, memos, reports, and other documents.
  • Monitors and provides direction to consultants engaged in administering program activities.
  • Prepares narrative and statistical program status reports.
  • Attends community, civic and business organization meetings to promote department programs or Citywide initiatives.

Qualifications


Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, Planning or a related field, supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

Disclaimer - "Accredited" means any nationally or regionally accredited college, university, or law school where the applicant is enrolled in or has completed an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Juris Doctorate degree program.

Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:

  • Previous experience working in law enforcement or in a court/legal environment.
  • Master’s degree in business administration or public administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Project Management Professional Certification

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview will be selected.

NOTE: Candidates must pass a background investigation, drug screen and other pre-employment procedures as determined by the Chicago Police Department.
