Project Engineer
Cives Steel Company, a well-established structural steel fabrication company, is looking for a motivated individual to join our Project Management Team. Upon completion of our 6 step training program, a project engineer will work side by side with a project manager assisting in all required project management responsibilities. This position maintains and leads day-to-day functions such as administering and working within standard operating procedures including but not limited to project start up and close out, cost reporting, contract administration, subcontractor compliance and project safety.
A project engineer will learn all aspects of properly managing a project, with the goal of developing into project manager. They must be a self-motivated and detail oriented individual, be able to multi-task at a high level, and be able to work in a team environment.

Experience:
- 4 year degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related field strongly preferred

Essential Functions:
- Assist with project setup and maintenance of project records (including but not limited to subcontractor attachments, project logs, assorted project templates)
- Meet project requirements as set forth by the customer expectations, Cives Steel Company processes, production schedule and project timeline
- Order and distribute drawings
- Prepare, email, and log subcontractor contracts and change orders
- Request, evaluate, and log all subcontractor insurance certificates
- Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors as needed
- Attend site meetings as necessary throughout the duration of the project
- Coordinate site delivery schedules to insure Steel and subcontract items are arriving on time and on budget
- Monitor and update expired insurance certificates
- Collect, log and assemble all project close-out documents
- Assist with various office duties as needed
- Oversee project financial records and budget compliance
- Job duties may expand over time depending on project needs
Competencies:
- Understanding of the construction industry and the role of a General Contractor.
- Understanding of basic construction technologies such as: financial comprehension, ability to read and understand blueprints is a must.
- Knowledge of Construction Management Processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Software Package including, Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Strive to maintain two-way communications.
- Self-motivated and ability to prioritize and manage time well.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
