Job Summary

Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Project Engineer

Currently looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Project Engineer to fill an opening with our firm in Fayetteville North Carolina. Interested candidates should have experience with a General Contractor that both self-performs and subcontracts construction and/or rehabilitation of existing water/wastewater treatment plants.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties will include field office support of Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, Owner, Engineer and others. Prepare and review submittals, RFI's, Subcontractor and Supplier coordination will be required.
Prefer heavy civil construction background with minimum 5 years experience with strong understanding of field operations. Undergraduate degree in the engineering or construction field is preferred.
Managing contractor information which may involve maintaining tracking logs, documenting deliverables, establishing hard and electronic project file set-up and tracking action items
Coordinating and attending progress meetings and construction meetings
Creating and distributing meeting agendas, meeting notes and spreadsheets for O&M manuals, spare parts, training, testing and supporting documentation
Drafting pre-construction meeting notices and agendas
Logging and distributing project information and pre-construction submittals supplied by project participants
Overseeing and examining contractor compliance with design documents, contract drawings and specifications

Qualifications and Skills

3-5 years' experience preferably in a consulting engineering environment in water and wastewater discipline, particularly utility design work including pipe, treatment plant, tank and pump station design.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation.

Experience working with Municipal clients

Progressive experience in planning, design, permitting and construction administration of infrastructure improvements.

Physically able to perform work in the field

Detail oriented team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills

High School Graduation or recipient of a GED required. Graduation from a two/four year college or technical school with emphasis on civil engineering, construction and water/wastewater management preferred. Experience in water/ wastewater facilities administration required.
