Rapids Foodservice Contract & Design currently has a full-time opening for a Project Manager position in their Contract and Design business segment in both Marion, IA, and St. Paul, MN, locations. Rapids is responsible for designing and outfitting commercial food service operations throughout the continental United States as part of a multi-disciplined team of design and construction professionals.
The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects according to predetermined timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The Project Manager will coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, manage risks and issues, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.

Advanced Job Responsibilities:
- Planning and Scheduling: Developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring that all project deadlines are met, and resources are used effectively.
- Budget Management: Managing project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and projects are completed within budget.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Managing vendors and subcontractors and ensuring that work is completed according to the plans and specifications of the projects.
- Project Supervision: Directing and supervising the internal project team, vendors, and subcontractors, coordinating with the client’s project team and subcontractors and ensuring that work is performed efficiently and effectively.
- Quality Control: Overseeing the quality of work performed, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds industry standards and customer requirements.
- Safety Management: Implementing and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all workers.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating project risks, ensuring that potential problems are addressed proactively.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including owners, clients, and subcontractors, to ensure that projects are completed to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all project activities, including contracts, schedules, and budgets.
The following experience and attributes will be beneficial for this opening:
- Team player with an outstanding attitude, detail-focused, strong organizational skills, and background in construction and project management.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plan sets
- Administrative/clerical work, bookkeeping skills, small office management experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask
- Computer competency is highly beneficial (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Added emphasis on being honest, attentive, putting the customer first, problem solver, and personally accountable.
