Job Title: Project Manager
Department: Industrial
Reports to: Industrial Vice President/ Regional Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of Position: Perform industrial hydro blasting services, vacuum hose operations, and truck operations safely and efficiently.
Must complete all required safety-related training including, but not limited to TWIC, 10 Hour OSHA, Confined Space, Hazardous Materials Emergency Response, Breathing Air Equipment Training and Fit Test, Confined Space Entry, Aerial Lift Training, Bloodborne Pathogens, Lock Out Tag Out, Heat Stress, MSHA, Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR, Hazard Communications, and Rescue Training.

Essential Functions:
  • Conducts team meetings to update members on best practices and continuing expectations.
  • Performs Wet and Dry Vacuum Truck Operation & Functions.
  • Hydroblasting Services, including Lance/Shotgun operation, Safe Equipment Operation & Functions/Troubleshooting.
  • Hydraulic Pump Functions and Operations.
  • Sewer/Jetter Truck Operations/Line Cleaning or Moleing.
  • Responsible for DOT required paperwork.
  • Load and unload equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • General labor and assistance to crew members and management.
  • Clean vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
  • Perform safety procedures including JSA's, lockout tag out, confined space entry, housekeeping, and company-specific procedures.
  • Oversee and Lead personnel, projects, and run outages.
  • Perform Jobsite walk-downs and project/job-estimating.
  • Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures for personnel at multiple sites, including training, job requirements, reporting, and follow-through of all safety-related issues.
  • Reports potential issues or concerns to Industrial Vice President/Regional Manager.
  • Organizes, coordinates, and executes all other programs and projects as may be assigned.
  • Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies procedures (e.g., safety glasses, earplugs, face shields, etc.) to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment.
  • Attends staff, departmental meetings, and safety and health training, as required, on time.
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and policies.
  • Travels as required.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities: (these are required to enable job holders to perform the job's essential functions).
  • Must be knowledgeable of DOT Rules and Regulations, Logs & ELD.
  • Must be able to operate a utility/pickup truck for hauling people and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds.
  • Must be able to enter Confined Spaces such as close quarters, crawl spaces, manholes, and other areas which could cause claustrophobia for cleaning purposes.
  • Must possess a safety-first attitude.
  • Must possess a positive working attitude and work as a team player.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a means of communication such as a cell phone.
  • Must have above average computer skills including Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Ability to train, supervise and lead a group of employees.
  • Ability to address customer needs and present solutions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, crew, division personnel and negotiate with members of all backgrounds and personalities.
  • Ability to be self-sufficient, independent, and resourceful.
  • Ability to communicate orally, in writing, and uses emotional intelligence to work through challenges and issues.
  • Ability to make substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and stand for sustained periods.
  • Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain all company equipment and accessories.
  • Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English effectively.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and manage priorities.
  • Must be able to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to see within normal range with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day.
  • Must be adaptable to change with short notice.
Marginal Functions: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person unless they prove unable to perform them after receiving training and/or accommodations that the company judges appropriate).
  • Assist in other areas as needed, including but not limited to Shop, Parts, and Inventory, and Municipal.
  • Support SIS Industrial division as needed.
  • Manage other projects as needed.
  • Develop and build SIS business.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum 4 years in verifiable industrial hydro blasting and vacuum truck operation experience; mechanical abilities helpful. Must be able to pass a drug test as well as a background check and motor vehicle check.
Specific Licenses: Valid State-issued Driver's License and DOT Health Card required.
Work conditions: Industrial setting, outside environment, exposure to extreme temperatures and elements possible; exposure to hazardous chemicals possible; extended periods of standing; climbing; ability to use handheld radio/phone.
