Project Manager for Digital Initiatives

Job Description Summary:

OneHope’s Product Development team designs products and programs that engage children and youth around the world with Scripture. Within the PD team, project managers direct all aspects of the development process for new and modified ministry products, from conception through program validation. This includes facilitating design sessions and meetings, managing timelines and budgets, communicating frequently with work groups, working closely with international team members, and coordinating a team of specialized contractors for various projects. The Product Development team has primarily developed print products; however, intentional effort and planning is being made to develop more in the digital space.

The Product Development team is looking for an individual with the experiences and interests needed to help successfully guide our department in the area of digital ministry. Desired qualities include a propensity for working in digital environments, a strong desire to learn, ability to quickly assess and solve problems to meet evolving ministry needs, and an eagerness to help find effective solutions in this area of digital products and programs for ministry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of OneHope and faithfully upholds OneHope ministry in prayer
• Develops best practices for assessing and implementing digital strategies
• Develops best practices for working with developers and partners in the area of digital ministry
• Supports Product Development in the development of new digital products and programs (apps, websites, short films, books, curricula)
• Facilitates design process and speaks into the components of new digital ministry programs and products
  • Facilitates design sessions and consults on the feasibility of design session outcomes
  • Helps communicate with and support developers and other project managers
  • Manages project timelines, contract agreements, and budgets
  • Provides direction to and oversees contractors including web/app developers, designers, illustrators, editors, theologians, etc.
  • Reviews and optimizes digital project functionality and content throughout the entire development process
  • Works with the Research department on primary and secondary demographic research as well as product and program validation and testing
• Manages and maintains digital assets and archives
• Assists with administrative duties such as planning meetings, processing invoices, and completing reports
• Creates and gives presentations to share with both internal and external audiences
• Ministers to OneHope’s donor partners
• Willing to travel as needed, domestically and internationally, to meet with partners and/or field team members, lead design sessions, and facilitate focus groups when beneficial
• Work to publish in changes in Wordpress, Webflow, or other platforms when necessary, provide ongoing support and troubleshooting
• Review websites with internal clients, answering technical questions, documenting requested changes, and asking clarifying questions to ensure expectations are met.

• Knowledge of user interface design tools like Sketch, Figma or Experience Design
• Ability to understand and utilize of digital trends among children and youth

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong writing and editing skills
• Experience with art direction
• Prior use or ability to master the use of MAC iOS preferred
• Experience with project management software
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Experience in missions and outreach, mentoring, coaching, and/or teaching children and/or youth

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Background in UX / visual design, digital development, and/or marketing preferred
