Due to increased success in the renewable energy transmission market, , we are now looking for a Project Manager to join our team to support our renewable transmission and generation clients in all regions.
The role will broadly be to provide project management, team leadership, program management and engineering services to clients looking for technical advisory and owner’s engineering services. Mott MacDonald's renewable energy portfolio is extensive with a strong order book for O/E, and design engineering activities in the renewables space in the US.
As an energy transmission and generation project manager you will work with the onshore wind, offshore wind and solar practice leaders and utilize staff from across Mott MacDonald Group to form and lead large project teams and deliver on the rapid development of renewable energy project.
You will be responsible for:

As an energy transmission and generation project manager you will work with the onshore wind, offshore wind and solar practice leaders and utilize staff from across Mott MacDonald Group to form and lead large project teams and deliver on the rapid development of renewable energy project.
You will be responsible for:
- managing renewable energy projects, major energy developers and project teams
- supporting and coordinating commercial proposals (bids)
- under the direction of energy unit leadership, directly interfacing with clients on behalf of Mott MacDonald
- working closely with other Mott MacDonald business teams and units
- assisting with professional excellence activities across subject areas
- raising the profile of projects internally and externally
Candidate Specification
We welcome applications from experienced project managers with the following:
- experience in
renewable energy projects in one or more of the following areas:- federal and state permitting experience
- overhead and underground electrical routing design experience
- experience with linear infrastructure, points of interconnection and substations/switchyards
- MISO experience, specifically in responding to RFP solicitations from MISO on behalf of clients
- project development experience
- experience leading a team performing CAPEX cost estimating, scheduling and monte carlo risk assessment
- structural engineering
- operation and maintenance planning
- experience working in the North American MISO region, including with developers, regulators and project stakeholders
- strong track record of ensuring program performance and delivery and customer engagement / satisfaction
- excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to others at all levels
- good leadership skills with the ability to work with and motivate staff in a global setting
- substantial project management expertise across a wide range of disciplines, contract/procurement routes and market sectors
- substantial experience of managing and leading multi-disciplined teams
- strong commercial focus with the ability to identify and manage risk
- Professional engineering license within the MISO region preferred.
