Project Manager - Enterprise Data Platforms

As a Barclays Project Manager, you will successfully deliver projects within the Risk, Finance, and Treasury (RFT) Tech Enterprise Data Platforms portfolio to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. You will deliver projects supporting the business strategy from business case through to initiation, requirement analysis, design, build, testing, implementation, benefits realization, and closure. You will work in a team is that is directly or indirectly engaged throughout the full delivery lifecycle.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. What will you be doing?

• Defining and implementing the strategy and vision, translating gaps between current state architecture and strategy into a project plan/roadmap
• Working with the Program Lead and Accountable Executive to set out the business case for the program, considering information on benefits, costs, risks, and timescales, etc
• Defining and implementing governance and reporting structure appropriate for the project
• Ensuring sufficient level of project detail and quality plans are prepared and maintained for complex projects by providing regular and accurate reports on progress against plan
• Constructing and managing project financials (budget, forecast, actuals), providing detailed reports on variances to key stakeholders
• Ensuring all resources are in place, appropriately skilled and appointed in line with delivery plans
• Ensuring compliance to quality assurance per the Change Framework and initiate other assurance activities where required
• Identifying, defining, and tracking realization of the project benefits are in line with the expectation set out in the Business Case and ensuring sufficient evidence is maintained

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with managing projects of medium - large complexity, business critical and cross-functional teams spanning multiple regions and functions
• Ability to build up good understanding of specialist areas that projects operate in
• Solid IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft products, such as, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project
• Practitioner level accreditation is an advantage (eg Prince 2, PMI, APM, Agile)

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Experience managing Data and Analytics driven projects
• Good Financial industry knowledge, experience of working with Risk, Finance and Treasury functions
• Understanding of Data Platforms, Cloud Solutions and Monitoring and Alerting
• Working knowledge of banking applications and infrastructure
