What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a someone with a strong background maintenance, has a passion for service, is highly motivated, and detail oriented to join our team as a Maintenance Technician. The heart of this role will be located at the site of the newest addition to The Abbey Resort's family: the Lake Geneva Hospitality Academy (LGHA). The LGHA is nestled in several acres of beautiful wooded surroundings less than two miles from the resort. The purpose of Lake Geneva Hospitality Academy will be to foster the growth and development of individuals looking to start or further advance their hospitality career.

We take pride in our LGHA campus to ensure a positive experience for our staff and students. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for keeping the overall campus in great condition inside and out. This will involve maintaining the residence areas including all communal areas, performing repairs, general maintenance of building exterior and interior and operational equipment, as well as the general grounds and outside campus areas.

Your Role:

• Walk the campus every shift, inspecting for preventive maintenance, proper aesthetics, cleanliness and safety making note of the details that need tending.
• Respond to various ‘work ticket’ submissions, i.e., light bulb out, backed up toilet, room temperature attention, to more intricate calls and projects.
• Perform checks, general maintenance and repairs of building and facility mechanical, electrical, heating and plumbing, including but not limited to fixtures, appliances and systems.
• Make repairs to woodwork, wall vinyl, doors and window, carpeting, etc.
• Knowing when to engage leadership on larger projects and repairs to determine the best solution when challenges arise.
• Keep records as required by company policy and procedures. Maintains logs on completed tasks. Prepares reports as requested by supervisors. Submits all requested Purchase Orders/reports/logs in a timely manner.
• Support the safety and security of all campus areas and individuals on campus.
• Carry out health, safety and room checks which include fire safety, cleanliness and risk assessments.
• Support management with assistance of check in / check out preparations and activities, including cleaning, moving of furniture and appliances.

Your Environment: Works in all areas of the property, both indoors and outdoors possible in inclement weather. Variety of surfaces and must be able to work at various heights on ladders, roofs, etc.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with a knack for preventive maintenance and fixing things to join our Lake Geneva Hospitality Academy (LGHA) with the Abbey Resort! The right candidate will be friendly, highly motivated, and detail oriented. Someone who professionally engages with our staff, students and stakeholders and positively contributes to the growth or our campus is a must!

In addition, the right candidate match should have or be able to:

• High School diploma or equivalent experience
• Trade school, military experience a plus.
• Someone with 2+ years general maintenance experience and knowledge of "household" repairs (hvac, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
• Flexibility in scheduling as things arise in the event of after hours, weekends and holiday emergencies, however normal schedule is Mon – Fri
• Current and valid Drivers License in good standing
• Someone who can work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Someone with excellent communication skills
• Ability to walk, stand, reach, crouch, bend, push/pull throughout duration of shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry 50+ lbs.

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
