Position Summary:
We are looking to hire a talented and eager Proposal Manager to join our team in a remote position. The Proposal Manager’s task is to support consistency of all proposals. This includes oversight of the proposal management process, development of specific standards for bidding and submission, contract negotiations, and document management. The Proposal Manager’s role in the proposal development process requires close collaboration with various departments including project management, business development, and accounting .
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and contribute to all stages of the development of proposals with high degree of flexibility
  • Create, review, and revise complex budgets for review by internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a liaison to clients and internal contributors
  • Collaborate with Business Development on proposal and budget negotiations
  • Guide and mentor Proposal Analyst(s) with the development of proposals, budget revisions and client requests
  • Triage assignment of RFPs as requested by leadership.
  • Develop and maintain Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements
  • Maintain robust knowledge of Scout’s capabilities to support proposal development
  • Serve as primary Scout Clinical contact during budget negotiations
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit Scout Clinical’s financial performance.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in the clinical/healthcare industry is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in client relationship management and stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated experience in RFP response, proposal management, and bid capture
  • Ability to read and understand proposals
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer expectations while protecting Scout Clinical’s interests
  • Ability to meet project objectives within designated constraints
  • Experience in applying industry best practices when developing requests for proposals and negotiating terms
  • Ability to systematically analyse complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions
  • Strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow
  • Robust skills in office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and SharePoint
  • Experience working from a remote office environment and collaborating with team members distributed worldwide
