Job Summary

The Prototype Project Manager will:

• Organize and prioritize all prototyping activities to maintain timelines, balance workloads, and deliver quality builds on time.
• Support the Engineering Manager for work allocation and interface with the team to ensure all projects are clearly understood and the objectives are defined
• Interface with Product Development team, internal build teams, and outsources on projects or programs related to Validation work, concept properties, and large Engineering prototype builds on a daily basis.
  

Responsibilities

• Define work scope with team for advanced/concept work, launch projects, and Validation projects.
• Manage the schedules of all work orders and report KPI’s that measure overall customer care that include, but not limited to Cost, Quality, and Delivery
• Create and maintain visual boards to communicate status of active department projects
• Set up and run daily Scrum sessions as needed for projects to keep team engaged and timing on track.
• Coordinate and procure detailed quotes on project requests. Get buy-in from project owners. Meet with team frequently to ensure costs are on target based on quotes provided. Create Purchase Order requisitions.
• Ensure all quotes and final costs are documented within Yanfeng Work Order system. Develop monthly data reports run and review with Management, including improvement plans
• Drive problem solving and tactical timing plans
• Validation program budget management – performance to plan and remedy actions with team. Weekly meetings to keep workflow on track.
• Help to ensure Validation fixture numbers are completed by modeler and engage with team to maintain fixture log
• Identify and drive continuous improvement activities inside the department
• Travel to Novi periodically for meetings and to help organize and maintain the fixtures for Validation projects
  

Qualifications

• 4-year Technical Degree and/or equivalent experience in product development within a manufacturing environment
• 5+ years relevant experience
• Scrum knowledge. Preferably a Scrum Master
• Teamcenter and Work Order system knowledge and efficiency
• High level of capability creating spreadsheets and visual information utilizing Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to leverage software formula functions and tools to accomplish all job responsibilities. Solid ability to gather data, analyze information, and summarize into a recommendation and action items.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues to resolution in a team environment
• Understanding and familiarity of CNC and 3D Printing technologies
• Solid understanding of general bench prototyping and validation jobs, along with the equipment that is used for those jobs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to independently organize and schedule workload for self and a team
• Must be willing to work on site with teams
• Flexibility to work in Holland or Novi with 20% travel.
