Registry - Weekend RoundingLoyola University & Medical Center in Chicago has an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatric Liaison – Inpatient Psychiatry . The Behavioral Health team is seeking future colleagues with a passion to provide advanced behavioral health knowledge and skills including direct and indirect assessment and care to patients and families, crisis intervention, support group facilitation, behavioral health education and problem solving in all clinical care areas.
Performance of direct specialized care with patients who have been identified as needing psychological assessment or interventions beyond the scope of general patient care practice.
Completes Level of Care (psychosocial assessment) and participates in the development of the individual treatment plan on all inpatients. Regularly consults with attending psychiatrists regarding patients' condition throughout treatment. Participates in weekly clinical staffing with the treatment team. Coordinates discharge planning in conjunction with the treating psychiatrist. Focuses on psychosocial needs of the patient including comprehensive aftercare plans and housing when indicated. Conducts family sessions whenever feasible. Facilitates legal process and documentation for involuntary admissions and medication petitions.
Provision and promotion of the delivery of patient care in accordance with Behavioral Health Department standards of quality care consistent with accepted standards of practice. Timely completion of documentation consistent with established policy and procedures within patient medical record.
Requirements:
- Master's degree required in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
- Certification/Licensure: Licensed Clinical Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) required. Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.
