Job description
This position will use multiple strategies to execute the public relations vision. These strategies and tactics include: reputation management, media relations, social sentiment monitoring, executive communications, influencer relations, awards submissions, and corporate giving and event planning duties associated with the fulfillment of Paycoms PR and marketing objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute/ Lead PR and marketing activities and campaigns
- Handle all media relations activities on behalf of Paycom
- Maintain company’s news archives
- Create lists and contact information for news pitches
- Pitch media
- Request publications editorial calendars and look for opportunities for Paycom to gain exposure
- Track and report on results of public relations efforts
- Assist in monitoring Paycom’s online presence by tracking changes daily and reporting on these findings
- Respond to reviews or posts across a number of social platforms, review websites and online forums
- Assist in social media campaigns by helping to build campaigns and create content
- Coordinate Paycom’s corporate giving initiatives
- Help plan and coordinate Paycom’s corporate events
- Learn all aspects and functions of the Marketing and Communications Department and be able to fill-in and assist with a variety of functions as needed.
- Partner with Events Management to identify new opportunities and execute prospect and internal events.
- Work across marketing department and finance to maintain and manage department budget.
- Become an expert in Paycom’s customer demographics and current and future products. Ensure product benefits are consistently and properly presented to the appropriate audiences across all mediums.
- Identify case study opportunities and partner with marketing, creative, and other internal teams to bring client stories to life.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, business or related field
Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in the field of public relations, marketing and/or copywriting. Writing samples
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong planning skills and proven experience in coordinating ideas and resources to achieve goals.
- Computer proficiency in with MS Office products, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Additional experience with Adobe Design Standard software is a plus.
- Proficient in technology to create and produce webinars and podcasts.
- Ability to produce live on-air content.
- Strong technical aptitude in learning new software, industry terminology and Paycom specific products quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and appearance a must.
- High standard of excellence in attention to details, deadlines, office policies and procedures.
- Ability to handle a number of high priority projects simultaneously and effectively.
- Able to work well with others across the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with customers, prospects, colleagues and vendors.
