Job description
Responsible for the oversight, of reports related to contraband, patient valuables, crimes on SMHCS properties, as well as workplace violence incidents. Assists in the maintenance of operational systems necessary to complete the investigative task. Serves as a liaison with all law enforcement agencies and facilitates any requests as it relates to incidents with SMHCS. Supports the investigative and/or executive protection needs of any SMHCS department request forwarded through Public Safety Administration to include, but not limited to, Human Resources, Risk Management, Case Management with John/Jane Doe, Video Investigations.
Required Qualifications:
- Require the following State of Florida Security Officer Licensure within the designated timeframe: - Class D - Security Officer Licensure within six (6) months of hire/promotion date. - Class G - Armed Security Officer Licensure within six (6) months of hire/promotion date. Note: All licensures must be maintained active throughout employment.
- Require successful completion of Public Safety Officer field training with one (1) year in good standing in the role.
- Require successful completion of Armed Officer Psychological Evaluation (AOPE) administered by a Board-certified Police Psychologist.
- Require a favorable driving record and background check.
- Require flexibility in work schedule with the ability to work on other shifts when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer previous security, law enforcement, or licensed private investigative experience.
- Prefer demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
- Prefer demonstrated proficiency in use of computers and applications associated with the SMH Public Safety Department.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to maintain a professional and confident demeanor.
