Purchasing & Inventory Manager
A new opportunity for an experienced Purchasing & Inventory Manager has arisen in Dublin Southwest within the industrial sector. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall aspects of purchasing, developing strategies in support of the company business strategy. This role is permanent, Monday – Friday from 8.30am – 5.15pm.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years mid-level management in purchasing/ supply chain, preferably, within a technical component sector dealing with a high level of inventory. A proactive, can do mentality - problem solving skills with the ability to think creatively to seek alternative solutions and exercise judgment where appropriate. A 3rd level degree in a relevant area of study (Purchasing/Supply Chain/Finance/Business) is essential.
Responsibilities:
· Negotiating and purchasing
· Receipting checking and storage of all inventories (over 10k SKU’s)
· Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
· Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
· Provide insights to the business on the supply market, spend, performance, opportunities & risks to support informed decision making.
· Analyse stock levels
· Develop competitive sourcing strategies including negotiation to contract
· Establish and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices
· Identify and source new commercial opportunities and supplier partners
· Drive efficiency and performance through a Continuous Improvement focus
· Enhance supplier performance & relationships
· Anticipate and address potential supply chain issues
· Influence and manage stakeholder expectations
· Manage the Purchasing team's operations and daily activities
· Train, mentor and develop team members
Requirements:
· Minimum 6 years' experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance)
· Excellent leadership and team building
· Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of procurement/supply chain processes, policy, and systems
· Experienced Negotiation Skills (both Locally and International)
· Exceptional Communication Skills
· Ability to Prioritise and Deliver to Timeframes
· Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
· Accuracy and precise attention to detail
· Skilled and experienced in dealing with over 10k SKU’s (inventory management at a high scale)
· Skilled in the processes of managing inventory levels efficiently
