Job Summary:
The Business Analyst, School of Nursing understands and identifies business problems and opportunities, assesses the capabilities to carry out change, develops data-backed solutions, and prepares appropriate documentation to present findings. This position supports the school with regular collection, curation, analysis and distribution of data to enable informed decision-making. The Business Analyst validates data to ensure accuracy and continually analyzes system and process functionality.
This position collaborates with a variety of colleagues to coordinate projects and business initiatives, such as health expansion, curriculum revision, and clinical placement team proposals. The Business Analyst is responsible for problem resolution, continuous improvement, and stakeholder relations to enhance School of Nursing effectiveness.
What to expect in this role:
Support the School of Nursing with regular data pull, analysis, and distributions.
- Use reporting and software tools to develop data, produce and maintain reports.
- Continually analyze system and process functionality.
- Assist in identifying requirements for comprehensive, data-backed business solutions to support strategic SON processes.
- Identify and track patterns, trends, anomalies/issues, and other facts and resolve accordingly.
Coordinate projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate projects and business initiatives.
- Responsible for problem resolution, continuous improvement, and measurement studies.
Assist with administrative tasks including completion of program verification forms, expense reporting, and maintaining and updating School Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate with and train appropriate groups on SON processes and procedures to enhance effectiveness.
- Monitor adherence to and sufficiency of SOPs and report this out.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
- 4 or more years of experience with the collection, curation, analysis and distribution of data or related experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
What we’re looking for:
- Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word and Adobe; as well as Google suite of applications such as Gmail, Sheets and Hangout.
- Must be detailed oriented and have strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in data management software.
- Ability to distill large datasets into actionable strategies.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style and method to suit different audiences. Ability to create visual aids to facilitate presentation of data.
- Ability to follow processes, work effectively on a team, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to learn, analyze, and shape and/or improve business processes.
- Ability to collaborate and interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students and senior leadership.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Additional Information:

- This is a remote position. Candidates must be based in and legally authorized to work in the United States.
