With oversight, supports the development of RFP-compliant, competitive, and quality marketing proposals and statements of qualification. Understands the Wilson & Company brand initiatives and pursuit life cycle process and develops a working knowledge of our centralized database. This is an organizational and logistics-focused role.


Required Skills


Following Wilson & Company's pursuit development process, using a consistent set of pursuit tools, and applying best practice/issue, solution, benefit, proof (ISBP) principles, take full ownership and leadership of pursuit team efforts to develop proposals, presentations, and supporting materials and campaigns; facilitate strategy discussions; and deliver compliant, clear, and compelling pursuits. Specific tasks include:


  • Ensure pursuits are accurately tracked through the Vantagepoint pipeline.
  • Gain an understanding of the Wilson & Company pursuit lifecycle process.
  • Under the direction of pursuit coordinators and/or pursuit managers, supports the pursuit lifecycle process.
  • Independently creates and populates forms to be included in proposal submissions and assists proposal coordinators and pursuit managers in obtaining appropriate signatures.
  • Coordinate with support services (legal, accounting, HR) on administrative sections of the pursuits (e.g., forms, statistics).
  • Takes an active role in proposal document production.
  • Coordinate and help produce, package, and track the proposal for delivery, ensuring that submission deadlines are always achieved.
  • Assist in developing PowerPoint presentations and coordinate any leave-behind materials with the graphic artists.
  • Completes and assists in the proposal closeout process.
  • Participate in internal lessons-learned debrief.
  • Under the guidance of the manager, may lead less complex proposal efforts.
  • Ensure the proposal closeout process is complete.
  • Conduct pink, red, gold, and IQRs.
  • Work with pursuit team to develop project capture plan, pursuit strategy, marketing campaigns, and capture ISBP.
  • Work with corporate communications to assist in developing and maintaining marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, presentations, project layout sheets, and print-on-demand sheets using corporate guidelines
  • May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.


Required Experience


Bachelors’ degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or related major preferred. Without a degree, two years of relevant experience; preferably supporting proposals in the A/E/C industry.

Some knowledge of the engineering industry is desirable, including experience with requests for proposals, request for qualifications, prequalification, and a general understanding of proposal/bid development; can understand the basics and can tell whether the text is addressing the solicitation requirements and command of the English language.

  • Learns and follows processes and procedures to support the production of compliant, quality proposals. Work involves the application of quality control and standard procedures and criteria to support and/or coordinate proposals.

Decision-making (supervision received; independent judgment or initiative; consequence of error):

  • Work is done under the guidance of the supervisor who is generally available for consultation and work direction. Exercises initiative and independent judgment about content, wording, completeness, correctness, and appropriateness of proposal contents and graphics materials, making recommendations to supervisor.

Work direction given to others (titles and number of personnel; type of direction given):

  • No supervision of others is involved.

Internal contacts (required interaction/relationship with others within the organization):

  • Interfaces with marketing staff, communications/creative services team, content/data management team, project managers, and technical staff. Occasionally contacts upper management for required signatures.

External contacts (required interaction/relationship with others outside the organization):

  • May contact clients, subconsultants, and vendors to verify, obtain, and coordinate information.

Annual Salary Range: $31,000.00- $49,000.00
