About the role
The Kerry Group is currently recruiting for a QC Manager-Microbiology for our Central Microbiological Laboratories on site in Charleville, Cork. This is a permanent role providing a service to multiple sites and reporting into the Site Quality Manager.
Key responsibilities
Day to day smooth running of the Laboratories ensuring consistent implementation of the facility's procedures, company practices and policies in line with Laboratory Accreditation and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures. Support and promote site safety initiatives within the laboratory.
- Maintain Laboratory Accreditation and ensure proficiency program and Environmental compliance
- Management and update of laboratory procedures, test method validation, Laboratory Manual, Policies on Intelex
- Recruitment, resource planning, training, and people management
- Facility maintenance, equipment procurement qualification, maintenance, and calibration
- Manage Laboratory KPIs and Laboratory Reporting
- Manage Costs and consumable procurement process
- Manage Internal Audits and external Regulatory, Certification Audits.
- Providing Microbiological technical support to the business
- Investigate and close out of Laboratory Non-Conformance, customer complaints and queries

Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Microbiology
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage
