POSITION SUMMARY
The QEHS Specialist position performs functions related to inspection and evaluation of the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards implemented on site. Chief goal is to protect the employees, business partners, vendors, customers and the environment.
The QEHS Specialist will support soft and hard services on site in their day to day work by recommending changes in the facility, equipment or procedures to protect workers. It will also provide support and expertise during accidents investigations to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future.
The QEHS Specialist educate employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs, promote safety culture on site. The QHSE specialist will also support and drive Quality investigations, CAPA’s and compliance activities.
The position incumbent is expected to adhere to all cGMP compliance and regulatory mandates and quality requirements, comply with all SOPs and client policies and procedures in the performance of job duties where applicable.
This position reports directly to the Site Lead.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary duties and responsibilities of the position are as follows. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and drive legislative and statutory compliance, providing advice and guidance to the CBRE site team regarding new legislation / regulations / industry best practice and other requirements.
- Manage the day to day running of the site specific QEHS Management Systems providing support to the site team and ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 standards
- As the HSE Subject Matter Expert provide advice on HSE ‘best practice’ to site management and front-line employees.
- Complete tasks in accordance with company QEHS procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with MSD Safety Standards implemented on site.
- Promote, lead and manage QEHS Management System portal, developing, reviewing and signing off logbooks, risk assessments and method statements.
- Manage chemical management system, chemical approval, safety data sheets and chemical risk assessments.
- Lead accident, incident investigations, completing in depth root cause analysis, corrective actions and lessons learned.
- Manage contractor’s compliance and engagement to safety on site.
- Complete HSE audits and site inspections, identify non-conformance and track to closure.
- Prepare and drive CBRE toolbox talks. Promote Safety Awareness.
- Monitor and measure HSE performance on site, tracking goals & action plans, analysis data, publish monthly reports, trend analysis and statistics.
- Ensure compliance with the required Quality Standards, cGMP-requirements.
- Develop Quality Risk Assessments for service lines provided for client.
- To ensure continuous improvements of the GMP-processes countrywide and on Site-level.
- To ensure an appropriate and prompt escalation towards the management in case of GMP-related nonconformities.
- Keep work area neat and orderly and observe all safety and compliance procedures.
- Seek process innovation and continuous process improvement in overall plant areas.
- Complete and conform to all training requirements for job role, including company-required and role-specific training.
- Carry out and assist in the ongoing training of new and existing personnel, as appropriate.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Min Bachelor Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences or equivalent or similar Quality compliance qualification.
Experience:
Exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing or equivalent.
Min 5 years’ experience in a similar Quality and Safety Compliance Role
Knowledge and Skills:
Extensive knowledge of relevant regulations and policies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
