Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting and implementing the quality management system. This role supports cGxP Quailty Assurance programs including: internal and external audits, document control, non-conformance investigation, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation, and monitoring.
The Quality Assurance Specialist is guided through knowledge of the continuous quality improvement practices within the industry, current quality guidelines and regulations, applicable laws, health, safety and environmental practices, principles of management and supervision, client-specific SOPs and Compass department procedures and policies. This position reports to the QA Director.

  • Performing audits and ensuring audit readiness
  • SOP enforcement and training
  • Building and sustaining client relationships
  • Managing operators

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provides Audit support to operations teams including pre audit readiness verification, audit participation as needed, and post audit corrective action.
  • Providing subject-matter and functional support to internal & external partners. Implements Client quality initiatives and trainings with ESFM operations teams and vendors to ESFM as needed.
  • Maintains vendor qualifications and ASL for vendors who may impact GxP space.
  • Performs periodic GxP auditing to include but not limited to adherence to Client specific SOPs, Good Documentations Procedures (GDP), and cleaning log books.
  • Supports team with follow up on GxP non-conformance issues as needed.
  • Ensures standardization across all business lines to support operations.
  • Analyzing data to identify areas of improvement in the process, especially related to reduction of Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) and deviations.
  • Leads and collaborates on non-conformance and CAPA investigations.
  • Driving root cause identification, analysis, and containment action with urgent, but thorough investigations.
  • Communicating results, metrics improvements, and necessary escalations to Quality and other department area leaders and managers effectively.
  • Evaluating existing Quality documentation and procedures for compliance and accuracy.
  • Exhibiting professional behavior with internal and external business associates that is compliant with company and customer SOPs.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues related to quality and/or operational issues while meeting deadlines.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of company records and reports as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related science field and/or at least 2 years Medical Device and or Pharmaceutical industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency using the Internet and Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
