Job Description:

Effectively ensure data that is generated by the lab is accurate and complete. This position is responsible for final product review and release along with performing equipment maintenance, calibration and repair
Job Requirements:
- Support the QC lab Safety program and help facilitate ADM Safety initiatives.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, PM and repair laboratory and facility equipment as needed.
- Must be willing to develop an understanding of the plant to assist operations on troubleshooting the process.
- Must be willing and able to job cycle check technicians on procedures in order to qualify them in jobs.
- Minimum of two years' QC Lab experience. Lab instrument knowledge and leadership experience preferred.
- Must be willing to complete internal auditor training and assist in the internal audit program
- Must have adequate exposure to all technician jobs in the lab if not qualified on each
- Approval for finished product shipments
- Must be willing to become HACCP and PCQI trained.
- Understand requirements and send out samples for 3P analysis
- Must understand micro techniques and be able to perform DMC analysis on in process and final product samples.
- Must be able to understand the sensory program and be able to prepare and panel samples for sensory.
- Documentation review (including chromatography)
- Demonstrated ability to work through situations involving product quality logically while involving the appropriate personnel as necessary
- Must have demonstrated good attendance
- Must have demonstrated leadership potential. It is an expectation that this person will be functionally supervising a team of up to 20 technicians.
- Ability to offer feedback as needed in order to develop more effective technicians.
- Must be able to work various hours to assist with plant upsets.
- Responsible for participating in QC Lab weekend and holiday coverage rotation.
- This position requires the ability to work in a variety of conditions such as an office environment, indoors/outdoors, hot/cold weather as well as physical demands such as standing, kneeling, and sitting for prolonged periods of time, climbing stairs/ladders and the ability to work in confined spaces in a variety of environmental conditions.
- Safety: must have a strong focus on safety and lead others through safe work practices
- Leadership: provide both positive and negative feedback, sets good example for the technicians
- Professionalism: professional interactions with plant and lab colleagues, able to handle someone questioning the accuracy of results
- Responsibility: showing ownership of the lab, equipment, your work area and results
- Initiative: willingness to take on tasks with minimal guidance from supervision (self-training on another job, creating work sheets and SOP’s, etc.)
- Teamwork: working with peers to get the job done and doing your part
- Communication: sharing ideas on how to solve problems or make things better, clearly relaying necessary information.
- Problem Solving: ability to systematically work through problems to determine a solution both with equipment and result
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 10lbs from waist to shoulder on a frequent basis; up to 30lbs from waist to shoulder on an occasional basis; and up to 40lbs from floor to waist on an occasional basis.
- Push/Pull: Must be able to push/pull 20lbs on an occasional basis.
- Standing/Walking/Sitting: Must be able to stand 5-8 hours per 12 hour shift; to walk 5-8 hours per 12 hour shift; and to sit 1-3 hours per 12 hour shift.
- Lower Extremities: Must be able to squat/kneel/crawl on an occasional basis; and to climb stairs/ladder on an occasional basis.
- Upper Extremities: Must be able to grip/grasp/pinch on a frequent basis; to work with vibrating equipment on an occasional basis; and to perform extended reach overhead work on an occasional basis.
- Equipment: Must be able to use power tools on an occasional basis; and to use computer and perform keyboarding on an occasional basis.
