Working under general supervision, Work in the Quality and Inspection Group. Normal duties include: following the production schedule complete the inspection/test Cryomodule components, coordinating with production personnel and other departments/groups. Will be required to determine methods of inspection to be used, make complex set-ups, and perform first-article, in-process and final inspection activities. Plan, set up and perform visual, surface finish, and dimensional inspection of production and R&D components including machined and sheet metal parts, fixtures, gages, and complete assemblies to determine precise conformance to specifications, tolerances and workmanship standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, detail-orientation, teamwork, time management and interpersonal skills, and would coordinate work with peers, Engineers, Physicists and other customers as appropriate. Excellent computer skills for the purpose of technical reporting is essential

Essential Job Functions:

Experience in Quality Control, Metrology

· Documented history of work in the Quality Control Field.

· Use of basic hand tools, along with dimensional inspection tools such as Micrometers, calipers, verniers, height gauges, gauge blocks, pin gauges, and thread gauges.

· Extensive experience in surface finish analysis using Mitutoyo, Taylor Hobson, and Etamic instruments.

· Ability to read engineering drawing & specifications. Understanding of GD&T ASME Y14.5 and strong math skills required.

· Experienced in instrument calibration, and maintenance of Calibration System in the Quality and Inspection Work center.

Scheduling and team work to support the Schedule

· Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and lab goals.

· Contribute to building a positive team spirit.

· Communicate effectively with team members and management at all levels.

Documentation and Computer Skills

· Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft word, Excel spread sheets and Adobe Acrobat Professional

· SRFOPS Quality data is recorded in a custom computerized Traveler System, where following initial training, the applicant would need to be able to quickly adapt for the recording and reporting of inspection data, and reporting of NCRs. Excellent computer skills and adaptability to the computerized traveler system is essential.

Problem solving and multi-tasking

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated strength in multi-tasking and prioritizing work

Additional (Non-Essential) Job Functions:

• Ability to work Overtime and weekends is a plus

1. Education, Certifications and Experience: AS degree or High School with 3 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

b) May have basic skills, knowledge and ability in other technologies.

c) Limited judgment required to complete assignments.

f) Auditory capabilities to hear safety alarms

g) Ability to climb stairs and ladders

h) Ability to lift 40 lbs.
