Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define Quality requirements for new tickets in collaboration with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) and Advanced Hardware Engineering (AHE) teams.
  • Create inspection plans to conduct visual, functional, and mechanical measurements, & tests across multitudes of parts ranging from injection molding, castings, 3D printing parts to PCBAs, and electrical sub-assemblies.
  • Create, review, and submit quality documents including detailed Inspection Reports, Dimensional reports, Functional Test Reports (FTR’s), Process Certs, Material Certs, Rework instructions, Temporary Deviation Orders (TDO’s), Packaging Reports, Part Submission Warrants (PSW’s) in various quality databases including Jira, RGBSI, 3DX, and other Internal Quality Logs.
  • Collaborate with SQE, AHE, and Logistic teams to contain and disposition of suspect parts which may include sort, rework, or scrap. Document decision records via TDO’s and Jira Tickets.
  • Maintain parts traceability requirements per Zoox’s standard.
  • Perform Metrology tasks using CMM as needed.
  • Maintain calibration schedule of the production and test equipment’s.
  • Assist in RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) in order to drive quality issues to resolution.
  • Assist in Zoox’s industrialization plan & mission by supporting product and process improvement projects under the guidance of the XOPS Quality Manager.
  • Maintaining a high bar of teamwork & cross functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 Year relevant degree and 6 years experience. A BS degree is preferred.
  • Previous mechanical, electrical, and electronics equipment inspection background with ability to use precision measurement tools is required.
  • Experience in defining and executing quality inspection criteria for the injection molding, castings, 3D printing parts to PCBAs, and electrical sub-assemblies is required.
  • Basic knowledge of QMS (Quality Management System) and Core Quality tools such as Process Flow Chart, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis), Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis, is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings using GD&T methodologies is required.
  • Understanding of sampling methods is preferred
  • Knowledge of PC-DMIS programming is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets, Jira, and RGBSI is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) is required.
