About the role:
The quality technician is the first point of contact for production personnel regarding quality issues. The quality technician is responsible for documenting non-conforming events as well as identifying and segregating impacted material. The position requires creative thinking and investigation skills to resolve problems that arise on a production line. The quality technician will be responsible for supporting multiple production areas on the APC manufacturing floor to ensure quality requirements are maintained throughout the process. This role will be required to support the shift, Monday - Friday (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identify, solve, and scope quality issues on the manufacturing line including initiation, investigation, and completion of NCEPs.
- Provide technical, process, and quality support to product builders.
- Assist in quality training for product builders.
- Assist engineers in failure analysis and CAPA activities, including a CAPA project member assignment.
- Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/products.
- Coordinate with upstream/downstream departments to adequately scope and contain the conforming products
- Identify and lead departmental initiatives related to best quality practices and continuous improvement.
- Identify, prioritize, and resolve quality issues identified by metrics.
- Update databases and spreadsheets used to track, monitor, and report department activities.
- Use the inventory and traceability management systems to transact and research material.
- Assist with product failure analysis.
- Assist with audit-related activities.
- Perform “special” quality initiatives with guidance.
- Participate in and follow directions for basic statistical analysis and data collection.
- Communicate with a wide variety of BSC personnel in and outside of the plant.
Required qualifications:
- 0 years with AA degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates good documentation practices and ability to maintain deadlines
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Independent organization and prioritization of multiple tasks
- Able to communicate technical information to engineers and collaborate to identify the cause of issues
- Able to work independently under limited supervision as well as in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
- Experience in the medical device field in a quality role
