Job description
The Quality Technician will be the primary contact for customer return and warranty issues. Quality in-process, final inspection, and testing at various stages of the product life cycle. This responsibility includes the comparison of product to specifications and meeting the needs of the customer. This position has responsibility for quality goals; COPQ and PPM measurements will focus on prevention of quality failures. This position will have communication necessary to ensure customer satisfaction both internal and external to the Gates Corporation. Also communicates with corporate groups such as Technical Service, Product Control, Customer Order Service, Quality Management and divisional leaders. Technicians will have regular contact with customers related to product performance
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs quality control test/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc… at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality, traceability and reliability standards.
- Ensures that products have required documentation and approvals prior to shipment
- Responds to customer requests as needed
- Other tasks or duties as assigned
- Proactive in addressing inefficiencies; communicate all equipment inefficiencies with maintenance personnel.

SKILLS ( manual, self expression, planning , organizing ) :
- Excellent communication skills required to document and report on defects and other QC issues
- Knowledge of the hose manufacturing and assembly process helpful but not required.
- Experience reading blueprints, process problem solving and error proofing
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must have excellent time management skills and be able to effectively multi-task
- Must be able to work independently
- Solid Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe and Access
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE (minumum required ) :
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
