Education: Knowledge of radiographic equipment, procedures and techniques, radiation safety and protection as well as anatomy and physiology at a level generally acquired through completion of a two-year program in an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology, plus 1-3 months of experience.

License/Certifications: Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and licensure by the State of Maine. Must have a current CPR certification.

Experience: See "Education." Previous hospital experience preferred.

Knowledge of department policies and procedures as well as familiarity with department equipment and material at a level generally acquired during one to three months on-the-job orientation and training.

Analytical ability to determine appropriate method for providing requested images based on specific individual patient and pathology to ensure diagnostic images. Must evaluate images to determine diagnostic quality.

Interpersonal skills necessary to elicit cooperation from patients and gain their cooperation while under going various radiographic procedures.

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Rad Techs position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Position Summary
Performs all radiographic, fluorography, portable and C-Arm procedures utilizing age specific criteria’s. Working independently as well as with other staff and physicians. Performs these exams at various locations throughout the campus (i.e.- main radiology department, ER, SCU, OR…etc). Enforces the principles of ALARA at all times.
