About the role
We are looking for a RD&A Senior Technologist in Meat Alternatives. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of passionate food creatives, you will be working as part of the Meat and Meat Alternatives RD&A team based in Naas, near Dublin, developing new products in line with customer project briefs.
We are open to support with relocation the successful candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Commercially focused development and application lead creating market suitable, innovative products for strategic customers
- Manage projects from ideation and bench development, through to scale-up and launch
- Develop a strong business acumen and understanding of the meat and meat alternative market
- Link consumer and customer insights into development of new products and renovation of existing products
- Work in line with business strategies to help deliver ambitious growth targets
- Develop best-in-class products through in-depth understanding of ingredients and processing for meat and meat alternative coating and seasoning technologies
- Develop processing expertise to support customers in achieving the best possible product and possess the ability to problem solve and work through processing issues
- Strong collaboration with Development & Application and Field Support teams
- Regular face-to-face engagement with customer Product Development and Production teams, as well as developing and managing working relationships with the customer teams
- Regular reporting of project updates to management and the wider team
- Leading customer engagement, presentations and RD&A communications
Qualifications and skills
Experience:
- BSc in Food Science / Technology or related field
- Good experience in industrial or research experience
- Previous experience of processing & knowledge of food manufacturing is desired
- Laboratory experience is an advantage
- Demonstrates an interest in Food (demonstrates creativity, practical skills & enjoyment of food)
- Full training will be provided
Soft Skills:
- Teamwork is essential, the role requires excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to share learnings, manage timelines & feedback results
- You should demonstrate an ability to work cross-functionally and inter-departmentally
- You should be adept at prioritising your work, juggling priorities and managing a variety of projects/briefs
- You should have a passion for food and the ability to confidently present information and food products to your team
- You should possess good organisational and PC skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel)
