Job description
  • Enters, modifies and deletes, as is necessary, all wanted, holds and notifies in automated and manual records.
  • Contacts Solicitors, Judges, Clerks of Court, Sheriff's Department, Magistrates and other Law Enforcement agencies to research, clarify and obtain information on detainers.
  • Process institutional copies of detainer documents to ensure documentation is provided to the institutions .
  • Researches and responds to correspondence and phone calls from SCDC personnel, other law enforcement agencies, attorneys and inmate relatives.
  • Processes detainers from the US Marshall's services, and immigration customs enforcement.
  • Provides training to records personnel and classification caseworkers on detainer related issues.
  • Good time management skills and filing abilities required .
  • Performs other related job duties as required.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in records management, information systems, or office administration.


SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

  • Two (2) years of clerical experience;
  • Must have experience in the use of personal computer.
