Registered Behavior Technician
We are a community based Supported Living agency providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. We work in an energetic atmosphere that embraces teamwork.
We are currently searching for outgoing, compassionate and dedicated individuals to become part of our diverse team. Providing support for Individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities within their home and community. Clients may have limited verbal skills and Challenging behaviors. Enjoy being active and engaged. May have occasional disruptive/aggressive behaviors. You will empower the client to enhance their independent living skills by training and supporting them with community access, personal care and homemaker activities, medical appointments, facilitate peer interactions and support at leisure activities, i.e dance classes, nail salon, hikes, etc. This position requires good judgment, excellent written and verbal communication, and quick problem-solving skills. Willingness to collaborate with a team.
This is a challenging but also a very rewarding position.
Training provided by agency Administrator on a monthly basis. Other trainings relating to Autism and other disabilities will be provided.
The successful candidate must have the ability to develop a rapport and trust with the client and have a genuine desire to serve our unique community. The successful candidate must also commit to attend trainings and accept and implement feedback from supervising professionals
Must be at least 21 years old, have a car, a valid CA driver's license, auto registration and auto insurance. Must pass driving abstract requirements and background check. Transport Client using staff’s own vehicle(s) for all community-based activities. A gasoline allowance will be provided.
The successful applicant will need to drive within adjacent cities.
Staff will be provided with a document outlining client’s needs and goals. Staff will collect data in order to gage client’s progress and program’s effectiveness towards those goals.
Previous experience in human services field is a plus.
