Full time, Nights. 36hours/week. $10,000 Sign-On Bonus Available! *not available for current BCH staff.
Pay Range is between $38.39-$53.60/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. **Range includes Night differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY
Participates in the accomplishment of Boulder Community Hospital’s and the Family Birth Center’s mission, vision and goals by utilizing the nursing process to coordinate and provide direct patient care. Is accountable for coordinating the resources needed by patients and families, promotes patient satisfaction and facilitates the achievement of quality clinical and cost outcomes. Ages of patients served include neonates, adolescents, and adults. Interacts in a respectful manner, considerate of age and physical abilities, and provides assistance to individuals in a manner that takes into account their special needs or age-related needs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, Etc.)
- Colorado RN license in good standing.
- BLS certification required by end of conditional period.
- NRP required by end of conditional period.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
- The RN will possess current knowledge and skills in the nursing care that includes theory base in anatomy and physiology, educational information and psychosocial information to respond to the needs of the patients and their families.
- Completion of competency-based orientation program specific to the care areas hired for.
- Provides direct total patient care for specific group of patients with collaboration as needed.
- Demonstration of continuum of clinical proficiency.
- Demonstration of use of nursing process and care pathways or plans
- Physical and mental stamina to perform job duties.
Experience
Experience in Special Care Nursery required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
ASSESSMENT
- The RN is responsible for the assessment of the patients and their families' biopsychosocial, and spiritual needs to meet their self-care, educational, environmental, safety and discharge goals
- The RN is accountable for the assessment of the ancillary staff competencies and appropriateness of delegation for data collection for the above factors.
PLANNING
- The RN develops and prioritizes care of the patient and family based on the ongoing assessment and use of the individualized care plan in collaboration with the patient and health care team.
- The RN efficiently utilizes available resources including appropriate referrals to follow through on the plan of care.
IMPLEMENTATION
The RN ensures completion of the interventions and appropriate patient education by demonstrating clinical knowledge for standard therapies as outlined in care guidelines for their areas of training and cross-training.
- Labor/Delivery/Recovery and high risk antepartum, intrapartum patients and postpartum patients.
- Mother-Baby, low risk antepartum, postpartum, and well newborns.
- Transitional care of newborn.
- Care of the high-risk newborn in Special Care Nursery.
- The RN ensures that the patient and family members will be involved in decision-making.
- The RN will delegate tasks/functions to competent caregivers.
- May be required to perform point of care testing. May be a point of care trainer.
EVALUATION
The RN is accountable for ongoing coordination, evaluation and revision of the patients' plan of care, utilizing feedback from the patient/family and the health care team.
The RN is responsible for the ongoing evaluation of ancillary staff competencies.
