Overview:
Seeking a motivated multidisciplinary engineer to take ownership of our Reliability Testing process. Drive continuous improvement and standardization across multiple teams. Define, develop, and implement tools required to increase efficiency and capabilities of the lab environment to cover all current and future products.
Responsibilities:
Lab/Product Testing Architecture:
- Become process owner for product testing in the reliability lab
- Includes test definition, implementation, and execution of product tests to support new products, and replication of customer issues as needed
- Training on iDirect specific network operation on various platforms will be provided
- Evaluate the current state of product testing in the reliability lab, and pull together the tools we should be using to stay on top of new products/processes as things change
- Coordinate with other teams conducting product testing at iDirect and develop a plan to implement a consolidated, common approach for product testing within the lab for all platforms
- What physical hardware do we need (servers, switches, etc.)
- Evaluate ‘Cloud’ infrastructure vs physical infrastructure especially for future systems
- Emphasis on using the same tools as the development teams, and our customers so that we don’t have a unique solution with unique problems that increase support required
- Develop process improvements to integrate best practices within our team
- Develop automation where it makes sense to ensure repeatability, reduce mistakes, and reduce the effort of testing products
- Evaluate available tools internally and externally (LabView, Python, system APIs, etc)
- Analyze cost-benefit long term, maintainability, and ease of use of potential solutions
QA/Rel:
- Fill in for QA on case-by-case issue basis if needed
- QA experience would certainly contribute to any process improvement activities from the above
- Potential opportunities for data analysis, common metrics, Reliability analysis and test design available as well
- Batchelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivilant experience
- Experience with satellite communication hardware including hands on testing
- Experience with IP networking
- Experience with test automation using Python, LabView, or equivilant
- Experience with VMWare, Cloud services (AWS, Azure), Docker, K8s a plus
- Experience with RF test equipment ( Spectrum Analyzer, SSA, Power Meters etc.)
