Primary Purpose

Provides technical resource and field service related to Lubrication, Vibration Analysis, Ultrasound Analysis, Thermography, and other Reliability Centered Maintenance Activities. Provides technical support for identification of equipment health and deficiencies through condition-based monitoring, preventive and pro-active maintenance, participating in Root Cause Analysis and developing corrective actions.

General Responsibilities for all employees

• Asset management of assigned areas utilizing Reliability Centered Maintenance methods, including; preventive and predictive maintenance, proper lubrication techniques, failure identification and reporting, and root cause analysis.
• Must be willing to attend training to achieve multiple levels of Certification in 3 different Predictive Maintenance (PdM) technologies including; Vibration Analysis, Ultrasound Analysis, and Thermography.
• Is required to manage lubrication and PdM routes, including all documentation and the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Reports all suspect failing equipment to appropriate departments, enters corrective maintenance work requests, and escalates the urgency accordingly.
• Participates in maintaining the vibration database (Machine Analyst) including set up and management of equipment hierarchy, alarm functions, fault referencing, history records, route development, program upgrades and software service contacts
• Provides input and recommendations for procedure development, training, field support, supervision, record keeping and technical referencing for the above core technologies
• Supports mechanical maintenance technicians and area maintenance leads with root cause analysis, risk management and continuous/reliability improvement projects.
• Maintains hardware and supplies for PdM equipment, including updating, repair, replacement and calibration of equipment and administering service contracts.
• Confirms all work completed using the CMMS daily.

• Participates in Down day/Shutdown work planning by providing input for scheduling, parts/materials needed, and manpower requirements.
• Required to work in all areas of the mill at any time, as needed or directed by the PM Coordinator.
• Attends and participates in Maintenance Group meetings, crew coverage duties and provides shift relief coverage on an emergency basis.
• Coordinates with maintenance planners and area maintenance leads to optimize equipment PM’s and work practices in areas of expertise.
• Coordinates with area maintenance leaders and area planners on job planning and scheduling for equipment reliability work.
• Supports commissioning and startup of new or rebuilt equipment through; suggesting proper lubrications, applying initial lubrication, inputting equipment into Lube-It, establishing proper maintenance and monitoring frequencies and conducting baseline testing.
• Provides full support in the absence of the Preventive Maintenance Coordinator.
• Provides plant wide production and mechanical maintenance support on an as needed basis.
• Required to manage supplies, spare parts, and lubricant inventory by signing materials out as required.

Requirements

• Experience in an industrial maintenance or manufacturing environment
• Base knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies
• Ability to handle and work with industrial lubricants
• Experience with lubricating industrial equipment
• Ability to determine onset of failing equipment
• Must be pro-active and work independently with little direction
• Computer skills using software database programs, e-mail system, web-based systems.
• Experience in the use of a CMMS (SAP) preferred.
• Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills required.
• Attention to detail required.
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with people for problem solving, coaching, and work planning
• A high school diploma or GED is required
• Must be 18 years or older
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
