_____ Overview of the post ___________________________________
The Domestic Assistant will be responsible for providing all domestic functions within the Centre including laundry and restaurant duties as needed.
_____ Responsibilities _________________________________________
· Clean Centre facilities and equipment regularly.
· Clean and maintain cleanliness of all floors, walls, windows, glass and surfaces of corridors, common areas, nurse’s station, resident rooms, staff room, offices, storage areas, stairwells, bathrooms and lifts.
· Complete laundry duties from time to time, as needed.
· Complete Restaurant duties from time to time, as needed
· Recognize cleaning tasks and prioritize cleaning
· Use the proper equipment and supplies for the job
· Maintain safety with all cleaning equipment and chemicals
· Notify maintenance department of any issues or problems with facilities
· Notify supervisor of faulty equipment
· Monitor stock levels of all equipment and supplies
· Be mindful of supply use and avoid waste
· Keep checklists and reports up to date as per supervisor’s request
· Completed all housekeeping related tasks as requested from management, nurses or senior care assistants.
· Participate in performance appraisal process and spot checks, with an effort to improve work performance and efficiency
· Be friendly, approachable and pleasant in all interactions with residents, visitors and staff
· Ensure the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of all residents
· Carry out all work whilst ensuring resident safety
· Practice proper infection control techniques
· Maintain a neat and clean appearence, ensuring proper and clean uniform
· Maintain a neat and tidy work environment at all times; ensure cleanliness of all areas where food is stored, prepared and served.
· Use correct moving and handling techniques.
· Abide by the Centre’s Policies and Procedures.
· Ensure that all incidents are recorded and appropriate action is taken.
· Be knowledgeable of fire and safety policies.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Work co-operatively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
· Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
· Other duties which may be required from time to time.
_____ Conditions of Employment ____________________________
· Successful candidate may be required to submit to annual TB screening.
· Hepatitis vaccination will be provided. A candidate may decline vaccination through a written declination or may provide record of previous vaccination.
· Attending continuing education and training courses, including Manual Handling and HACCP training
_____ Working Conditions ____________________________________
· Work is normally performed within the confines of the Centre.
· Moderate physical activity requiring the handling of objects.
· Standing and/or walking for more that 4 hours per day.
· Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment

Pay: From €11.00 per hour
