Following our commitment to invest £12.5 billion in low carbon projects over the next 5 years, our SSE Renewables (SSER) business continues to be at the forefront of our growth plans, and our ambition to build a world that's more sustainable and inclusive for you, your family, the community you live in and for generations to come. We are proud to be playing a critical role in the net zero transition, as we aim to more than treble the net capacity in operation to 13GW and grow renewable energy output five-fold to over 50TWh over the next 10 years.
About the Role

Salary: Circa €37K depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
Do you enjoy working outdoors? Our teams within SSE renewables are growing and you could be part of this exciting and challenging business that provides job security and the opportunity to develop.
We are looking for interested candidates with a construction/building trades background to join us and work as part of a team; operating, inspecting, and repairing our renewable generation assets.
Some of your main accountabilities will include;

- Assisting the site supervisor in carrying out routine monthly inspections and reports on windfarm assets, with safety at the forefront of all activities.
- Risk assessing, organising and carrying out maintenance and repairs on smaller general issues; whilst co-ordinating and safely setting contractors to work on larger civil issues.
- Supporting the operations and engineering team during planned electrical and civil works, such as substation maintenance and road/drainage works.
- Adhering to associated guidance, policies and procedures throughout everything you do, in line with SSE's Safety and Environmental protection priorities.
- Assisting with ensuring site works comply with construction regulations.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have;
- A keen interest in outdoor work, with hands-on experience in civil maintenance or construction trades.
- Experience working at height.
- Previous windfarm experience is an advantage, but not essential.
- A high regard for safety and the environment; embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Personal drive and a flexible approach to work; with the ability to embrace a high degree of self-management on routine tasks.
- Practical knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards.
Primarily based at Galway Wind Park, you'll also be travelling to other sites in the region as part of this role; occasionally you'll have to stay away overnight. Therefore, it will be essential that you have a full and valid driving licence.
What's in it for you?
An excellent package with 34 days holiday entitlement, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, discounted healthcare, salary sacrifice car leasing and much more, view our full benefits package on our careers site.
As an equal opportunity employer we encourage diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
