Posting Summary:
The Part-Time Research Assistant (RA) will assist in staffing the Baby’s First Years telephone hotline for research participants; assist in coordinating volunteer RA shifts on the hotline, assist in running participant visits in English and Spanish, assisting with administrative tasks, assisting with Institutional Review Board (IRB)-related tasks, and helping organize and code study data.
This position includes work up to 27 hours each week and may require working on weekends.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Part-Time Research Assistant (RA) will assist in staffing the Baby’s First Years telephone hotline for research participants; assist in coordinating volunteer RA shifts on the hotline, assist in running participant visits in English and Spanish, assisting with administrative tasks, assisting with Institutional Review Board (IRB)-related tasks, and helping organize and code study data.
This position includes work up to 27 hours each week and may require working on weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MA in psychology, child development, neuroscience, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field
- Experience with assessing childhood cognition, parent-child interactions, physiology, and/or brain development, or equivalent experience working closely with young children.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have strong quantitative and statistical research skills (familiarity with Excel, REDCap, and Stata a plus).
- Be exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, independent, and adept at multi-tasking.
- Be nimble and creative in solving problems.
Possess an ability to identify and meet the needs of research participants while simultaneously advancing organizational goals - Be self-directed, self-motivated, adaptive, and comfortable in a dynamic, but ambiguous environment.
- Have experience managing staff and building productive working relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Conversationally fluent proficiency in Spanish (full bilingualism a strong plus)
- Experience working closely with infants and young families from lower income backgrounds
- Experience with experimental (randomized) study designs
Salary Range:
$30/hr
