As part of its expansion, the Program on Extremism is seeking to hire a Research Fellow with knowledge on radicalization, extremism and terrorism, particularly but not exclusively in the West.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develops protocols and criteria for the conduct of research
- Oversees and conducts interviews and evaluates progress of studies at predetermined check points
- Analyzes data, interprets and implements research methodology based on outcome of analysis
- Develops policies and position papers and publishes articles and reports
- Participates in the larger more complex research projects which require coordination with multiple organizations (national and international)
- Trains staff and delegates tasks
- Serves as project manager on a number of research initiatives
- Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline plus 5 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience in conducting research on non-violent extremism, terrorism, or counter-terrorism.
