The Department of Health, Behavior & Society (HBS) is seeking a Research Program Manager who will manage up to three global public health projects. Each project requires management of key project personnel, coordinate between the Baltimore-based Hopkins research team and in-country research firms, and management of project deliverables to the external funders. Reports directly to Hopkins project principal investigator.Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures reporting requirements are met.
Schedules and takes minutes of meetings, assigns responsibilities emerging from meeting discussions, and ensures project timelines are met.
Plans in advance to translate deliverables into specific tasks, assigning timelines and deadlines accordingly.
Provides input during the proposal writing phase and contributes to manuscript writing for publication and poster presentations during scientific meetings.
Oversee subcontract work being done by global partners to ensure project deadlines and deliverables to the funder are met.
Responsibilities & Duties Under HBS
Acts as the project manager on a public health project in India.
Supervises doctoral and master's students serving as research assistants.
Oversees the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process at JHU and locally in India.
Serves as the liaison with funding agency.
Ensures funders reporting requirements are met.
Provides input to ongoing reports and manuscripts.
Ensures all project deliverables are being translated into specific tasks on a weekly basis.
Works closely with the principal investigator to ensure project goals are being met.
Responsibilities & Duties Under International Health
Acts as the project manager on a public health project focused on TB vaccines.
Manages the project status sheet.
Coordinates team meetings and calls.
Manages Dropbox.
Supervises master's students serving as research assistants.
Ensures funders reporting requirements are met.
Provides input to ongoing reports and manuscripts.
Ensures all project deliverables are being translated into specific tasks on a weekly basis.
Works closely with the principal investigator to ensure project goals are being met.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience in strategic communication.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to use all MS Office products.
Ability to travel globally.
Ability to shift work hours to accommodate African and South Asian colleague's hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Five years related experience, including demonstrated supervisory or lead responsibilities.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Health Communication, Communication, Public Health, or related field a plus.
Master's Degree in Health Communication or related field highly desired.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.
