Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour (+$1.00 shift pay

Job type: Full-time/Part-time/Temporary

Schedule: 12 hour shift - 7 days a week (may include weekends and overnights)

NorthStar Transitions currently has an opportunity for a Residential Counselor at our residential treatment facility located in Ward, Colorado. Our Residential facility is located in Ward (Boulder County), surrounded by 50 acres of nature and wildlife. This is a great opportunity for entry-level and experienced counselors who have an interest in working with clients with substance use disorders, especially candidates who are pursuing or are interested in pursuing their Certified Addictions Counselor in Colorado!

Shift schedules are 12 hours, evenings and overnights with shift differentials.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Conduct rounds to monitor clients;
• Enforce program rules and expectations;
• Support implementation and practice of evidence based modalities;
• Drive clients to and from activities and appointments;
• Administer UA and BA tests;
• Facilitate and participate in therapeutic groups and activities (with therapist permission);
• Conduct searches of clients and client possessions/rooms;
• Ensure facility is organized and well maintained;
• Comply with State and Federal laws including HIPAA; and
• Problem solve as issues arise.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Entry Level to 5 years experience working with Substance/Addictions environment.
• Strong problem solving and forward thinking skills.
• Cultural Competency.
• Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
• Experience in Healthcare, specifically substance abuse and/or addictions helpful.

Position requires periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching and use of stairs to 2nd story throughout 12 hour shift.

Use of computer for various periods throughout 12 hour shift.

May be required to operate season vehicle for road maintenance.

Ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
