Job description

The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct Respiratory care to long term care residents in an effort to restore pulmonary function; alleviate pain; support life by planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy. This Respiratory Therapist will be primarily focused on the southern parts of Indiana, and will train in Indianapolis, IN. Located mostly in and around New Albany, Clarksville, Sellersburg and Scottsburg.

Qualifications

• This position requires a current valid Licensed Respiratory Therapist issued in the state where the person will practice. (IN, KY, or OH)
• Must have thorough knowledge of respiratory techniques, and practices.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of the specialized procedures applied, and equipment used, in the assigned unit.
• Must be able to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills, and provide positive attitude, and direction for the nursing staff.
• Up-to-date physical assessment skills and comprehensive knowledge of respiratory principles are required.
• Recent experience in geriatric or rehabilitative nursing and experience preferred.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma, or GED
• Minimum: Associate of Science Degree in Physical Therapy
• Certification of (CRT) Certified Respiratory Therapist or (RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist

Other Requirements:

• Licensed in the state RT is working
• Pass drug test
• Background check
• CPR Certification
• Clean driving record
