Essential Duties:

• Assists in food preparation

• Helps serve food

• Maintains sanitation, safety, and security standards

• Demonstrates effective work attitude

• Uses time effectively

• Follows policies and procedures of IVH

• Does dishes using proper procedures

• Sweeps and mops floors

• Takes food carts to proper floors

• Cleans kitchen

• All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Ability to demonstrate residents’ likes and dislikes on diet cards

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions

• Able to stand for long periods of time

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push, or pull heavy objects

• Ability to produce simple foods

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Ability to work well under pressure

• Ability to work in hot and humid environment

• Ability to work around slippery floors

Ability to work every other weekend

Experience:

• No experience needed – willing to train

Responsibility:

Incumbent receives detailed instructions for new tasks and follows specific procedures for recurring tasks. Work is supervised by higher-level staff or supervisors.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS

Works with facility kitchen staff and interacts with residents and other facility staff.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

Incumbent is often standing, walking, stooping, and pushing food and dish carts. Occasionally, incumbent must lift boxes of food or exert effort in scrubbing floors, furniture, and kitchen equipment.

Working Conditions

Incumbent works primarily in a kitchen which is both noisy and hot. Incumbent is exposed to the hazard of falling on slippery floors or being burned or cut while using kitchen utensils and appliances.

Pay: $14.17 per hour

Shift:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Morning shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• West Lafayette, IN 47906: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred)
