As Bank of Ireland continue to grow their business, they need to ensure that they have sufficient qualified advisers in Retail Banking to advise and support their customers.

What’s the opportunity?

You will be on a 12-month contract as a Cpl Colleague with Bank of Ireland, which commences with a full-time onsite training program over an 8-week period, where on successful completion will provide you with a full APA qualification* in conjunction with the Institute of Banking and increase to salary of €28,000 upon attainment

This achievement will then be utilised in an APA required role within Retail Banking, supporting your continuous career development and progression.

During the 8 weeks you will also be introduced to Bank of Ireland, have your placement within Retail Banking confirmed, and commence your official onboarding.

Following your 8 weeks APA Fast Track Training Program, with the Institute of Banking you will commence training for your role within Retail Banking, and thereafter take up your placement on the team.

These roles are part of their New Ways of Working and provides an opportunity for hybrid working with a mix of on site and work from home days.

Subject to your performance in role, having attained the APA and passed your 6 Month Probation as a Cpl colleague, you will be considered for a permanent Bank of Ireland contract before the end of the 12-month term.

Purpose of all Roles within Retail Banking

Once appointed to the suitable role in Bank of Ireland, the key focus is to provide a highly professional, friendly, and best in class customer care with clear solutions to all customers in a contact centre or an advisor role within Retail Banking.

Essential Skills and Experience

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work optimally as part of a hard-working team.

· Experience in Customer Service.

· The ability to Problem Solve.

· IT proficient in a previous role.

· Demonstrated capability to put the customer first in every interaction.

· You will have to demonstrate curiosity about technology, and be an early adaptor of new technologies, on desktop, mobile and tablet platforms.

*Salary starts at €26,500 moving to €28,000 upon attainment of the APA

**Full time Classroom based in Kilkenny on site for first 8 weeks with additional training based on appointment.

What is the APA?

The Accredited Product Advisor (APA) qualification meets the Central Bank’s Minimum Competency Code (MCC) requirements for selling and advising on certain retail financial products and is the key requirement for building a career in Retail Banking.

• To achieve APA status means completing 3 separate modules (Loans, Regulations and Savings & Investments) and successfully passing the exam assigned to the module. Each module takes a period of two weeks, with exam on the final day of the module.
