About the Role

This role is responsible for the daily operation of assigned store locations. This is to include, but is not limited to: providing and creating an environment that provides excellent guest service and sales culture, Retail Associate observation, direction and coaching, opening/closing functions, housekeeping, assigning and delegating tasks, administrative functions and communication with the Retail Leadership Team.


  • Provides support for Retail Associates and delivers excellent guest service.
  • Participates in an active sales culture of meeting hourly and daily revenue goals.
  • Provides support in Administrative tasks, including monitoring inventory levels on sales floor and in stockroom and managing losses.
  • Monitors daily and hourly sales and drives Retail Associates to meet goals.
  • Assists Assistant Manager in utilizing effective schedules and labor control.
  • Assists Assistant Manager in coaching and developing Associates, by leading by example.


Main Responsibilities:


Operational

  • Responsible for being present and available for Associate and guest support in assigned store locations
  • Responsible for setting individual goals to reach daily targets.
  • Responsible for assigned store locations’ daily maintenance, cleanliness and security
  • Responsible for ensuring all cashiers are utilizing proper tools for efficient and effective POS usage
  • Responsible for all opening and closing tasks necessary to operate assigned store locations, including vault pick-ups and deposits in keeping with company policy and procedure

Financial

  • Responsible for assisting Assistant Manager in tracking and achieving established labor, sales, loss and stock budgets of assigned locations
  • Responsible for efficient use of company and store supplies
  • Responsible for assisting Assistant Manager in educating Associates in key financial performance indicators
  • Responsible for assisting in stock loss controls and participating in all Loss Prevention policies and procedures


People

  • Responsible for assisting Assistant Manager in evaluating, training and coaching assigned team members to help develop a sales focused professional, efficient and effective team through appropriate coaching and recognition
  • Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures and reacting appropriately to employee relations issues
  • Responsible for promoting and demonstrating LEGO’s and Merlin’s SOPs, culture and core values through words and actions
  • Responsible for continuing own growth through utilization of career development programs through collaboration with Store Assistant Manager.


Health & Safety

  • Managers/Supervisors/Leads/Coordinators are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
  • Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained.Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.

  • May be assigned other activities and responsibilities within the Retail Department as needed.


Background and Experience:

Requires one - two years of experience in Retail. Experience in theme park merchandise is preferred. Requires experience in retail store operations, leadership/management experience, including employee training. Knowledge of cash handling, inventory/sales auditing, and of point of sale automated systems is required. Experienced in merchandise maintenance and visual merchandising is required. Ability to work effectively with others with effective communication skills required.


Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); College degree preferred.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site, and interact with employees.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.

  • Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
