Job Title: RF Test Technician

Job Location: Basking Ridge, NJ

Job Duration: 12 Months +

Description:

• Work with key engineers in the Device Technology team and develop automated tests to evaluate RF/MW performance of devices.
• Setting up RF measurements
• Writing software code to automate tests.
• Automating test sequences and building graphical applications Gathering device logs for further data analysis Updating test platform firmware and software builds Conduct system performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity, and scalability.
• Work with the testing team to develop performance test plans and cases.
• Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes.
• Generate test summary reports for management review.
• Analyze root causes of performance issues and provide corrective actions.
• Suggest new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency.
• Provide support in project design, development, and deployment activities.
• Develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance testing.
• Review and recommend improvements to existing test procedures.
• Design and develop test strategies and plans to verify that applications and systems under test to meet expected SLA’s.
• Design, implement, execute, and analyze performance and load tests for services and applications.
• Execute performance tests that exercise the applications and systems under test in areas such as capacity, longevity, and stress.
• Understanding of software development and QA processes.
• Performance analysis on whether the product under test is ready for production.
• Performance analysis of production data for ongoing assessment and tuning of performance test approach.
• Manage multiple performance testing projects.
• Responsible for performance modeling, benchmarking, capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar engineering discipline.

Must Have Skills (Most Important):

• Strong knowledge in setting up test equipment for different types of RF measurements Familiarity and knowledge in the use of RF test equipment such as network analyzer, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, base-station analyzers, oscilloscopes, analytical instruments, and power supplies.
• Familiarity with Keysight UXM Base Station Analyzer/Platform Accustomed to different type of test equipment communication protocols such as GPIB, VISA, TCP/IP, and UDP.
• Understand the fundamentals of basic RF and mmWave laboratory principles Familiar with basic text commands to control instruments such as SCPI Knowledgeable in basic programming languages such as Visual Basic, Fortran or Matlab Understand how to structure code and write functions and procedures for code sequences The ability to work independently in an unstructured and dynamic environment.
• Ability to communicate complex, technical information clearly and concisely.

Even better if you have:

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronics/Computer/RF Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years’ experience in test automation with a background in RF system
• 7+ integration
• Proficient in Python programming language
