works to identify areas of risk and potential liability; and develop risk response strategies to mitigate loss and maximize opportunities. An integral part of this vision is advancing the University’s Enterprise Risk Management process and embedding risk ownership into management activities at all levels of the institution.
Job Overview
The Risk Analyst – in a temporary role - supports the organizational objectives of the Office of Risk Management. They respond to inquiries involving the University’s Driver Authorization process, assist with insurance underwriting, and other risk management programs and activities. This position also serves as the back-up to both the Risk Analyst in the University’s claims management process, and to the Business & Contracts Officer as it relates to the University’s Asset Protection Insurance (API) program.
Work Interactions
Reporting to the Director of Insurance and Claims, and the Risk Analyst supports the Office of Risk Management’s efforts to implement and manage University-wide programs and activities.
They interact with other Risk Management functional units and staff, including the department’s Business & Contracts Officer, Risk Analyst, and the AVP of Risk Management to coordinate the administration of departmental risk management programs.
They have direct and daily interaction with campus stakeholders in various departments across the University’s campuses regarding the Driver Authorization and API programs by telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of formal and professional experience
  • 0-2 years of experience required or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • A general knowledge of risk management, insurance, claims management principals
  • Ability to analyze claims, review insurance requests, and collect exposure data for underwriting Excellent communication and strong organizational skills toward managing a high volume of issues and respond appropriately to various situations
