Job description
Requisition #: 623791Location: Howard County General Hospital, Columbia, MD 21044
Category: Nursing Support/Patient Care
Schedule: Night Shift
Once a baby is born, mom and baby are moved to Howard County General Hospital's all-private 34-bed Maternal-Child Unit , designed for the special needs of new mothers and their babies. This usually happens approximately two hours after the baby is born. Our staff of the Maternal Child Unit supports a family-centered approach, allowing bonding mothers and babies through "rooming-in," to get to know each other. We also offer separate in-room accommodations for fathers or support persons to encourage them to be a part of our patient's care.
Howard County General Hospital is a private, not-for-profit, community health care provider, governed by a community-based board of trustees. Opened in 1973, the original 59-bed, short-stay hospital has grown into a comprehensive acute care medical center with 226 licensed beds, specializing in women's and children's services, surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gerontology, psychiatry, emergency services and community health education. In June 1998, Howard County General Hospital joined Johns Hopkins Medicine. Our campus offers free parking!
