This role is based in Minneapolis, MN (hybrid) with 20-30 travel required or 100% remote within the US with 20-30% travel required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Regional Sales Managers (Wholesale, Drug, Club, Regional Grocery) in identifying market opportunities (communicate this information to Customer)
- Analyze business on a daily/weekly basis using IRI software
- Develop category reviews that will be leveraged to grow pet food category sales
- Use information from multiple data sources to identify sales opportunities
- Develop solutions with respect to product distribution, promotion, pricing, and shelf-placement
- Prepare clear and concise presentations to inform of business/consumer trends, existing opportunities and solutions for growth
- Analyze shipment and retailer portals to understand POS movement and inventory trends to support HQ forecasting
- Participate in various training activities to enhance job performance and personal growth
- Conduct market visits that include:
- Meetings in broker’s offices
- Retail audits
- Account calls
- Business planning sessions with National Account Managers and brokers
- Complete/attend all necessary information & technology training
- Assist other functional areas to develop business opportunities and provide information to Customers.
- Work with Marketing to identify and close opportunities
- Work with Marketing Research to analyze, recap, and disseminate research findings
- Work with Category Development Manager on special projects.
Qualifications:
SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
Experience
- Consumer packaged goods experience required
- 2 years of analytical experience is required; plus sales experience preferred
- Proficient in Excel, ability to manipulate data
- Syndicated sales data software experience is preferred (i.e. IRI or Nielsen)
- Shelving software experience is a plus (i.e. Apollo)
- Experience with SymphonyIQ is preferred
Other
- Strong computer and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Available to travel 20-30 %
