Sales & Marketing Business Analyst

Business Analysis:

• Analyze external market dynamics and other data sources to assess trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations to management, via understanding of the business model and the information available for analysis
• Gather and analyze data using modern and traditional methods to formulate reports and make recommendations
• Analyze large quantities of data and other business processes to form ideas, fix problems and provide key insights and recommendations to the business
• Proactively identify and recommend business improvements and where appropriate, assist the business in applying analytics insights in order to improve business decision making and portfolio steering processes
• Analyze market data such as competitor coverage offerings, overall market dynamics and other relevant market developments
• Work to build a shared understanding of problems, outline the parameters of the project, and determine potential solutions for their customers
• Act as a change agent during the transition to an analytics-driven organization

Customer Service:

• Provide on-going support to identified customers in order to identify growth, targeting, and sales opportunities to help achieve their goals
• Analysts will be expected to facilitate work meetings, ask the right questions, and actively listen to colleagues to take in new information and build relationships
• Be an intermediary between a variety of people with various types of personalities: clients, developers, users, management, and information technology (IT)

Technical Skills:

• Work with databases containing data from multiple sources, at various granular levels, to deliver data in good quality for use in analytics and visualization projects
• Become familiar with vendor and subscription tools, such as Comperemedia, Census, IBIS, SNL, etc.
• Assist to develop data dashboard with visualization capabilities
• Work with IT and other stakeholders to prepare, maintain and quality assure external data sources (e.g. Experian, social media or weather data, for use in further analyses) as well as internal data sources
• Develops and expands knowledge of relevant tools and techniques

WE EXPECT

Required Skills:

• Strong problem solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills
• Ability to relate numbers and calculations to ideas and business questions to find solutions
• Be able to comprehend an business goals and problems and offer the best suited solution
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or some other similar major

Preferred Skills:

• Introduction to Insurance
• Passed INS 21
• CPCU, Master's Degree
